GRANVILLE ENERGY

Granville energy, like so many businesses, had operational challenges born out of the slow march of time. Also a common sentiment, the efficient monitoring and management of the facility was paramount in delivering successful, and safe, operating conditions. Throughout years of expansion, geographic diversification, and ongoing maintenance, Granville found themselves with a system built out on a wide selection of metering equipment, and a similarly wide methodology for data collection, creating massive inefficiencies in the data retrieval and management processes. As a result, there was no standardised, auditable data, resulting in Granville having to fall back to the NIE metering.


Like many companies with dispersed facilities, remote connections to local machines were required for day-to-day operations. Operators were required to remotely login via teamviewer to monitor remote facilities, which would create a potentially serious lag in the time between a fault occurring, and a fault being identified, and a remedial action being taken.

Izon began working on this environment and everything changed. First, Izon implemented accurate ROC meter readings from the multiple brands of meters throughout the estate, including Elster, Autometer, and Schneider, collating and reconciling these readings into a singular monthly reporting.


REAL TIME STATUS OF ALL REMOTE SITES

Next, izon built a fully customised dashboard for Granville to access real time status of all their remote sites, with a simplified, visual dashboard, removing the need for continuous remote desktop sessions to check if everything is ok.

Then, fault automation processes were designed, developed, and implemented into the system to notify the operational team on a wide variety of conditions.. Additionally, the business intelligence extrapolated allowed the operations team to better manage their just in time gas deliveries, knowing where to best send trailers to reduce operational expense, and drive significant efficiencies to the bottom line.

At this point izon had already transformed the day-to-day operational reality for Granville, replacing the need for proactive engineering engagement with concise, visual, real-time business intelligence. But, we were not done yet.

Using the intelligence of the izon platform we instigated customised form modules as well as asset tracking for field engineers. Now, all the field engineer visits were automatically clocked, and reported for internal cost analysis and billing. Job sheets were streamlined, automatically assigned to assets, creating a simple, intelligible maintenance audit log and environment.

And then, finally, we used all of the intelligence we were gathering for Granville, and produced them the audit logs required for ofgem, and historical performance reporting for the management team to see how their assets were performing, drilling into hours, days, weeks and truly understanding what was going on, and why it was going on.
